Terima kasih Excellencies Vietnam, members of delegations.
This is a very meaningful visit and it’s a visit that would be able both of our countries to enhance our relations to comprehensive strategic partnership.
The General Secretary Communist Party Vietnam has been very forthcoming and supportive, so are the leaders in Vietnam and I think that we have expressed our appreciation and therefore we will make sure that we will facilitate the collaboration in all fields, defence, marine, as you have seen also the 2 MoUs, MATRADE and PETRONAS and digital and also energy using the ASEAN Energy Grid.
Vietnam has been very supportive of our business ventures into Vietnam which has now exceeded USD13 billion with 700 projects. That would mean the support of the Vietnamese Authorities has been very positive and forthcoming and they continued to support us on the ASEAN chairmanship. We will therefore ensure that our joint commission meeting which we are supposed to host I think we will seek the understanding of both Foreign Ministers to do that early of the year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Since we have been a rather successful in terms of the joint development authorities between two countries, we have agreed to explore the possibility of having joint effort in the fishing industry so that we can really work on the business of trust and friendship.
Finally, thank you again and I told the General Secretary whilst it was extremely meaningful and exciting for me is to work with history and struggle. Vietnamese leaders and Vietnamese people with the understanding of their history and their struggle and to ensure that Vietnam remains fiercely independent nation and working for the people. With that great history, I said in my next visit, General Secretary will arrange my special visit to Dien Bien Phu. Thank you.
